This is a hardware problem. you have to replace the power adapter.
According to me it sounds like it might be time for a new battery.
Replace your old battery then your problem will be solved.
Causes for iPhone for not turning to the power supply : If you are not able to turn on your iPhone then you have to install latest version of iOS in your iPhone.And following instructions you have to remember are :
1) Do not connect Charger from USB power Adpter.
2) Do not put iPhone at the higher temperature and maintain at acceptable temperature.
If you are facing problem related to turning on-off then you have to press seek service.You can check your liquid Contact indicator option is damage.
After checking all functions in iPhone then again not working then try to reset while connecting USB power Adapter.
