What could be the causes for iPhone for not turning on unless connected to the power supply?

iPhone is turning on only when it is connected to power supply? Is this a hardware issue? Should I replace the power adapter or battery?

This is a hardware problem. you have to replace the power adapter.
According to me it sounds like it might be time for a new battery.
Replace your old battery then your problem will be solved.

Causes for iPhone for not turning to the power supply : If you are not able to turn on your iPhone then you have to install latest version of iOS in your iPhone.And following instructions you have to remember are :

1) Do not connect Charger from USB power Adpter.

2) Do not put iPhone at the higher temperature and maintain at acceptable temperature.
