you can recover from the errror code 1656 by following some steps :
if you are using MAC then :
1. initially open the finder.
2. now hold down command + shift and also press "G".
3. Enter "private/etc/" in the field and then press "go".
4. now you need to find hosts file in the directory.
5. now drag the file to your desktop and open it in text editor.
6. you should remove the line that has gs.apple.com fully
7. now you should save the file and drag it back to /private/etc/ folder
8. finally you must enter the user name and password and proceed further so that error code 1656 wont appear.
on windows:
1. Initially you need to locate the host file in one of the below mentioned directories like :
windows 95/98/Me c:\windows\hosts
windows NT/2000/XP Pro c:\winnt\system 32\drivers\etc\hosts
windows XP/vista/7 c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
2. press right click and go to "open with" and now open with notepad.
3. remove the line that has gs.apple.com fully and save the file.
in this way you can protect your iphone.
